Black handloom sarees are one of the beautiful sarees. This piece of khandua has unique motifs all over. The body has numerous motifs of a tribal man holding two weapons with both hands. These tribal man motifs are of white in shade. Towards the border there are larger motifs of an orange coloured tribal man with a bow in a triangle shaped box. All of such motifs look exclusive on the body of the saree. The aanchal of the saree is orange and maroon colored with golden floral motifs all over. The aanchal is very structured and beautiful . The border of the saree is traditional khandua one of orange and maroon shade.
Khandua Pata Sarees have a pious and religious omen and are often a part of auspicious occasions in Odia Households. Kataki and Manibandha are other names of Khandua Pata Saree. These sarees are from the village of Nuapatna and special Khandia Patta have the texts of the famous play Gita Govinda by Jaydev.
