This Blue Chessboard or Pasapali Saree is one of the favorite collections of the state and is the new exclusive design in Odisha Ikat collection. This colour combination of the pasapali silk saree is widely loved and preferred and which adds value to your wardrobe by its regality and class. With the intricate Bandha pattern the body is smooth and breathable to wear. The pallu or the borders is lined up with straight lines giving it a fine and rich look.

The entire combination makes it one of the beautiful sarees in contemporary design of
Pasapalli. The crafted Pasapalli Silk Saree matches with a plain black blouse. This unique piece of handloom is woven by masters weavers of Sonepur giving it a finished and lifted look.

Chess has many traditional names .Chaturanga, Satrang and Pasapalli are few of them.
The patterns of chess have made their way to the yarns and fabrics. Pasapalli as the name goes PASA which stands for an old gambling game (somewhat similar to chess) and PALLI from the print on the pallu. Pasapalli Sarees are woven with a tied dyed weave art which is known as BAANDHA. This ancient weaving form is called “bandhkala” and the symmetrical prints on both side of the saree. The elaborate work of weavers lifts it value and make it looks one of precious possession.
