Meaning, The Knotted creepers. This particular khandua saree is a revival saree dated back to the times when Nabakothi was first designed. The saree is called "Ganthia- Dali" Ganthi in odia is knot and Dali is creepers. The pattern of the saree is inspired by the nature where the creepers are knotted on the branches with fruits/vegetables around.
The body of the saree has a vibrant blue colour with creepers in white threads. The yellow portion inside the creepers signifys fruits/vegetables. The pallu of the saree made up on traditional flower rudraksha motif.
