Description

The Body of the saree has a Indigo Blue base and has beautifully crafted "Sankha" motif on it in white threads. The Pallu or anchal of the saree has a violet base with Tribal motifs weaved on it. This beautiful combination Indigo Blue and violet is a lovely affair of colours and form perfect companion for any occasion. The blouse of the saree has a indigo base with small white temple motifs on it. 

Sambalpuri Sarees of Odisha are known as the finest handloom. Sambalpuri fabrics reflect an original style of craft known as Baandha Traditionally, craftsmen created Baandhas with images of flora or fauna or with geometrical patterns. More recently, new types of Baandha depicting portrait, landscape and flower pods are being designed. Baandha fabric is created using a tie-dye technique. The yarns are tied according to the desired patterns to prevent absorption of dyes, and then dyed. The yarns or set of yarns so produced is called 'Baandha'.
