The body of the saree is of yellow color with little flower motifs of red and green These motifs are made using extra weft weaving technique. The aanchal is of green color and has jhoti flower motifs with extra weft work. The aanchal is all Bomkai weft work. The border of saree is temple and rudraksha motifs making it look beautiful and ornate. This rich and exquisite piece of handloom must be part of your collection. SONEPURI or BOMKAI have been a recognized and glorious print all over the world. This gorgeous pattern comes from a village called Bomkai itself. The “bhulia” community of Subarnapur are the masters of this artistry. These sarees have been flourishing since 600B.C. holding supremacy and shimmers. Since then the handloom has come a long way to get the GI tag in the year 2009. The intricate thread work and the beautiful patterns are made by the process of wrap and weft. The former Miss World Aishwarya Rai wore “RADHAKUNJA” a kind of Bomkai during her wedding with Abhisekh Bachchan.
