Description

The Gorgeous Bandha Bomkai Handloom Silk Saree is in a beautiful combination of Green and Magenta. The Green Bomkai Saree has a Magenta Pallu and very intricately woven white and Dark Magenta Border. The Body of the saree has a Green colour and has  Small motifs in a combination of Magenta and white. The pallu of the saree is pink colour and has a combination of Ikat and extra weft weaving. The magenta pallu of the saree is the main centre of attraction which has small temple type motifs on it in a combination of yellow and white. Blouse of the saree is a magenta base with green stripes all over it. 

Sambalpuri Sarees of Odisha are known as the finest handloom. Sambalpuri fabrics reflect an original style of craft known as Baandha Traditionally, craftsmen created Baandhas with images of flora or fauna or with geometrical patterns.

More recently, new types of Baandha depicting portrait, landscape and flower pods are being designed. Baandha fabric is created using a tie-dye technique. The yarns are tied according to the desired patterns to prevent absorption of dyes, and then dyed.
