Description

Gaint Paisley on Pallu of the saree is one of the most unique designs in Odisha Handloom created by award winning weavers using extra weft weaving technique. The major attraction of the saree is the giant paisley motif done using golden colour on Bottle green base. It has also got small bootas surrounding it which makes the entire pallu very rich in its look. The  entire body of the saree has a beautiful combination of paisley motifs and bootas. The borders of the saree has been done using golden zari. The blouse of the saree is also unique with Stripes of small paisleys and golden border.

Sambalpuri Sarees of Odisha are known as the finest handloom. Sambalpuri fabrics reflect an original style of craft known as Baandha Traditionally, craftsmen created Baandhas with images of flora or fauna or with geometrical patterns. More recently, new types of Baandha depicting portrait, landscape and flower pods are being designed. Baandha fabric is created using a tie-dye technique. The yarns are tied according to the desired patterns to prevent absorption of dyes, and then dyed. The yarns or set of yarns so produced is called 'Baandha'.
