Grand Laxmi Feet & Jhoti in Sambalpuri Ikat Handloom is one of most desirable Sambalpuri Ikat sarees. This particular Laxmi Feet Saree stands out for having the most unique motifs created keeping in mind Manabasa Gurubar. The base of the saree has magnificent Green base with Laxmi Feet woven inside lotus. The body of the saree also has mango leaves, kalash, laxmi feet inside Shree Yantra and jhoti on the top. The border of the saree also as a different kind of jhoti motif representing Odisha's tradition and culture. The border of the saree has a Maroon base with beautiful jhoti & shell motifs on the pallu. The blouse of the saree is maroon complementing the entire look.
Sambalpuri Sarees of Odisha are known as the finest handloom. Sambalpuri fabrics reflect an original style of craft known as Baandha Traditionally, craftsmen created Baandhas with images of flora or fauna or with geometrical patterns. More recently, new types of Baandha depicting portrait, landscape and flower pods are being designed. Baandha fabric is created using a tie-dye technique. The yarns are tied according to the desired patterns to prevent absorption of dyes, and then dyed. The yarns or set of yarns so produced is called 'Baandha'.
