The simple yet elegant piece of Nabakothi or Nabarangi Saree is one of the beautiful collections. The sophisticated handloom saree is red and white colour singing out the strength and softness of femininity. The body is white with little motifs of flowers, shapes and colourful objects. The red and black aanchal of saree has animal motifs specifically of elements, horses and flowers. The vertical division on the aanchal makes the saree patterned and tailored. Adding to these details the ganga jamuna border makes it look more elegant. Ganga jamuna borders a different colour that is one side red and the other side black. The saree also the tints of pasapalli border won both the red and black border.
Nabarangi or Nabakothi Sarees depict the nine houses or kothi or kothiri with nine auspicious motifs placed linearly on the body. The motifs would be lion, bird, butterfly etc, The sarees are done using tie and dye techniques.
