A very Unique Sambalpuri Ikat Handloom Saree. The Body has a Sky Blue base with Maroon phoda kumbha work on the shoulder. The anchal of the saree has peacocks dancing with Joy along with extra weft dongaria themed bootas on it. The rest of the body has Big Marooon temples (Kumbhas) on the lower side and small temples (kumbhas) on the upper side. The blouse of the saree is maroon with small sky blue temples.
The Phoda Kumbha texture is one of Odisha’s most famous designs to be done in any saree. The textures of the Phoda Kumbha take at least two people to do it
completely. The paddling technique for weaving these textures is quite challenging.
