The auspiciousness of Odisha’s handloom is depicted in this beautiful piece of Berhempuri Palla. This very unique handloom with colors of body cream and red are the stories of the Goddess Laxmi. This color combination is a symbol of the Goddess laxmi and is seen all over Odisha usually on Thursday. The body is of body cream color and has little paisley motifs all over. The border has phoda kumbha work which is the traditional motif of Berhumpuri Palla work. The aanchal has a red hue with linear structure with the colorful paisley motifs. The most attractive feature of the saree is the Durga Maa face which is done using the extra weft work. This Berhumpuri Saree has the tints of Goddess Laxmi and has the motif Goddess Durga gives me the most pious vibes. This would be a great piece of saree during Manabasa Guruar and Durga Puja or any auspicious occasion.
