Yellow Forest Odisha Handloom Khandua Silk Saree

Colorful khandua sarees are so exclusive and this saree is a classic example. This piece of saree is a classic traditional saree which is being revived. The body of this revival saree has colors of yellow, maroon, green, purple and off white. The big part of the saree is of the handloom yellow color with the maroon or pink flowers all over . These maroon flowers have a green coloured center. Towards one side of the body has purple color shade with motifs of yellow, red and green. The weird motifs are packed in the purple temple border and vertical lines of off white shade. The other side of the body has the temple border in the purple shade. The one border of the body is of trees and animals in a colorful shade of blue and pink. The other side of the border is the regular border of khandua. The aanchal is a huge work of animals , trees representing jungle life. The color of the aanchal brown with ducks, deers, lions, deer of green, yellow and orange colors. The border of the aanchal is of the same as the body ; one isde animals and trees and other side the regular khandua prints.

Khandua saree is a classic handloom famous for temple borders and single Ikat weaving process. The sarees stand out in itself for its elaborate patterns and colors that can attract at once. Khandua sarees are also known as Maniabandi which marks its origin at Maniabandha and Nuapatna of Cuttack, Odisha.
