Pattachitra Paintings are one of the most famous and oldest art forms of Odisha. The name "Pattachitra" comes from the Sanskrit word Patta which stands for canvas or chitra. It is a painting done on canvas with rich and colourful motifs and designs. These paintings showcase simple themes, mostly mythological characters.
The land of Vrindavana is where the love of Radha and Krishna unfolds. Radha and Krishna represent timeless and true love. Radha is considered to be the embodiment of devotional service to the ultimate lord, and Krishna is thought to be satisfied only with devotional service rendered in loving adoration. Lord Krishna is believed to be the amalgamation of masculine and feminine qualities, and thus Radha is considered synonymous with Krishna and is prayed together.
