Pattachitra Paintings are one of the most famous and oldest art forms of Odisha. The name "Pattachitra" comes from the Sanskrit word Patta which stands for canvas or chitra. It is a painting done on canvas with rich and colourful motifs and designs. These paintings showcase simple themes, mostly mythological characters.
Mayur Nrutya indicates good luck and possible opportunities in the future. The peacock’s feather can be seen consisting of gopis. This indicates the connection between Lord Krishna and the peacock, as a Mayur Pankh is always seen attached to Krishna.
